Review of Ward B4 written by a patient
21st May 2019

I can't fault any of the staff involved with me for my operation, from Gill and Chloe in the ward to Rosie and Debs in prep. I was cared for with care and all managed to help reduce my fears with the professional manner shown throughout the day. The only complaint I do have, which though trivial, the clock above the ward door needs the date and day corrected. Trivial I know but it really was the only thing that annoyed me all day, and I did intend to mention it before leaving but slipped my mind and I would expect to be a maintenance job rather than something Gill or Chloe could resolve.

The anesthetist was very pleasant and did not rush me. The surgeon came and spoke to me prior to the operation. In recovery I must have been talking gibberish but the staff interacted. All the nurses were very helpful and entered into conversation and treated me with respect and made time to talk even though they were busy. Apart from needing the operation it was a good experience. The anesthetist came down after the op to see if I was OKAY. Never happened before. I felt noticed.

The checking in and triage were very organised but then we were sent to the childrens waiting area where the wait began. When checking in, the tv screen said there were 10 patients in front of us and an hour and 10 mins wait. In total we were waiting for around 2 and a half hours before we queried why the nurse seeing people had gone missing. It turns out we were just being left while she did her paperwork and when she had finished her paperwork we would be seen. As by 3 later we still hadn't seen anyone and my daughter was in agony with her ear, a nurse brought some pain relief and then one of the nurses from the adults section actually came to see her. The nurse that did come was lovely, thorough and great with my daughter, just a shame we had just been left sat there while paperwork for the day was done

Review of Ward B4 written by a patient
26th February 2019

my treatment was superb and couldnt be faulted. improvements which could be made relate to the information i received about what to do when i got to the hospital. my letter said go to unit H, on the web map there is no mention of unit H so we decided to head to the hospital and hope that Unit H was signed. on the map outside the hospital it did say unit H for the day care unit so we followed that. we sat in the patient waiting room as the day unit office wasnt open and then worked out from overhearing others that we needed to go to registration on B4 and then go the waiting room. there wasnt even a note in the waiting room telling us to do that.

Review of CMTC written by a family member
12th February 2019

My husband has a type of dementia that causes him to suffer immense anxiety and episodes of intense fear and difficulties with speach and communication. He recently underwent a hip operation and was a patient on the inpatient ward. I cannot speak highly enough about the staff who gave my husband care of the most exemplary standard. Even before his admission he was allowed to visit the ward and was introduced to the people who would be caring for him. The visit was a very valuable experience for both of us and gave us re-assurance that his specific needs would be catered for. During my husbands hospital stay the staff at all levels were professional, caring, kind and exceptionally patient. We cannot put into words how greatful we are to all the staff on the ward and will never forget how they made my husbands experience in hospital an experience that despite his condition he felt safe, secure and well cared for in a pleasant and kind environment.

Review of Endoscopy Unit Halton written by a patient
6th February 2019

I am not a frequent visitor to Hospitals so I can't judge the treatment I received against anything else. The service and treatment I received today I thought was excellent, can't fault it in anyway. So in my opinion there is no need to change what works well.

Exellent experience, from the point of consultation right up to the operation itself , everything organised prior to Ben being admitted , he has a learning disability, autism and epilepsy and can be highly challenging when scared . We were allocated a private room , the staff were extremely kind and caring and a credit to the Nhs

Review of Occupational Therapy Halton written by a patient
12th December 2018

The occupational therapist a lady by the name of Jeanette Moore who seen me was excellent, when I told her about my car accident she was very sympathetic and shared her experience. Although others told me I should seek counselling, it was only after speaking to her I have decided to do so. I have been in touch with my job and it will be arranged. Her time was very much appreciated, and was not rushed at all.
